Reader’s Quotient is an online magazine available for netizens and is live since 26th jan 2010. This is just an e-zine and is not available in print media. It works to understand the DNA of society. When it says, “Understanding the DNA of Society”, it means that each article being published here shall give a 360 degree view of the topic in hand. It shall quench the reader’s quest for a quality e-zine, where writers shall write things keeping the larger interest of the public in mind.

What is unique about Reader’s Quotient?

Internet today has taken the world with a storm. Many of the initiatives such as Teach India etc are based on the same observation. However observations say that there are many who yearn to contribute to society but due to so a pressure cooker routine and so many other factors they hardly get a platform. It’s here that Reader’s Quotient shall bridge the gap. In case people have a passion to write and share knowledge and do something productive for the better cause of the society, they can write for us and once the e-zine gets good traffic and it starts getting ads from ad-networks and sponsors, money shall come. These monetary benefits shall then be used to fund the education of poor and needy children in consultation with some NGO.

You can always write for your blog and carry on with all your personal and professional commitments. Writing for Reader’s Quotient is totally different than writing for your blog. Here you are in a team. A team which works for one vision and makes a concerted effort to raise the standards of the society. Here you have a much larger reader base. Nope, Reader’s Quotient Team, takes a pledge that it shall write free of cost and share knowledge with all its netizens. Costs of each of the writ-ups can’t be measured. They are worth more than the highest paid columnists in leading e-zines. All monetary benefits coming to it shall be used for social cause.

Shall Reader’s Quotient give accountability about these funds?

Yup, we work on ethical grounds. We shall be transparent of all our funds and all our initiatives and shall keep on updating about the same in a separate section called “Reader’s Quotient News”.

Why did you pick up only the education sector where funds shall be donated?

We believe that illiteracy is the root of all evils. An educated society shall always grow and live in peace and harmony. As long as we don’t get rid of illiteracy, we can never imagine of a society where each one of us shall prosper. It’s only the educated who can drive this society. Once we begin funding a child’s education, he/she shall grow up with knowledge and wisdom and he himself might come out with some other brilliant idea of lifting the masses. This, in turn might  bring a trend of helping people and doing something creative and productive things for the larger mass. It’s this message which shall help this society to prosper. We are no doubt concerned about helping a child learn but more than that we are concerned of passing this message so that many more initiatives might come out.

Where is Reader’s Quotient based?

The entire team works on a part time basis from their respective rooms. All members are either working professionals or students who are already preoccupied with so many commitments. However, they do manage some time to contribute their parts for the e-zine because it’s something which gives them a different kind of satisfaction and ensures a sound sleep. Details of each and every members of the team with their roles shall be put shortly in a separate section called “ RQ Team”.
