Have you ever noticed how technology is affecting our day to day lives? You might not even realize but we are actually surrounded by small yet smart technical marvels all over. In our homes be it a microwave, a television or a music system, all are smart technical wonders in one way or another. They have their own brain, however preliminary and basic, which lets them think, learn and do the actions which were not imaginable till few years back. Here we are not just talking about the electronic circuits and equipments but the smartness of these gadgets. A television these days can offer you reminders for your favorite show or record it when you are not there. How do you think that is possible?

After reaching a Bear market low in March 2009, Bombay Stock Exchange's SENSEX Index has now risen over 110% in about a year. New money that had been on the sidelines for too long is rapidly flowing into the market to get some of the action. As more and more speculators enter the market to make a quick buck, the markets will start to hit new "highs". Neither the market nor the future can be predicted or controlled by the speculator, yet success is largely dependent upon them both.
Even though economists all around the world constantly forecast the fate of the world economy on so many factors like land, labor, capital, imports and exports, official exchange rates etc, for some strange reason I am left wondering as to whether these parameters on which they judge an economy and make predictions are really complete in itself. Do they serve the purpose of measuring something as big as an economy? The neo-classical economic indices like GDP, GNP, PPP etc. do not reflect the inequality of resource distribution arousing out of the huge differences in the assets of a capitalists and the common beings.
Planet earth is full of mysteries, some of those existences are not known to human race, some have been explored and solved and the rest have been explored but yet to be resolved. The last type haunts the scientists, theorists and other intelligent beings the most. Though these genius men constantly strive to find the answer as to why there is no logic known to them about the existence of a particular phenomenon, they still fall short in providing logical explanations. Mostly these types of activities or occurrences become the source of all myths and unexplained theories, like the UFOs and aliens and folklores and many more. Scientist would deny these myths but unless they themselves get the facts they sit quietly on the absurd hypothesizes made by locals only. Here we’ll discuss a couple of these phenomena which might have left many people insomniacs.
I am a 21-year and my experience in investing for the past 6-7 years says that most of the time the market discounts the performance of companies. The potential remains largely unappreciated. The phenomenon is more visible in mid and small cap companies. My experience of investing in bharti telecom is one of the glaring examples of valuation of the company not reflecting the true potential of the business. The company at that time was very aggressively building up the network in the country.Globally, mobile telephony has been established as a big business, whereas in India, its potential was completely untapped. The market was so pessimistic that by January 03 the stock fell to as low as Rs 20 and its book value was Rs 25. Hence the price to book value was 0.8x for a company which was building up India's largest cellular network.
“Born of man's primitive urge to seek order in his world, mathematics is an ever-evolving language for the study of structure and pattern. " - Alvin White, Lawrence University. Have you ever wondered as to what is it that makes almost all human beings look alike? Have you ever tried to relate the pattern in which trees grow branches, the way water falls in spider webs, the aesthetic looks of nautilus shells, the way your capillaries are formed and even the pattern of your own DNA? Human beings have a unique tendency to question things, study pattern and relate them with nature. It’s this tendency which is what makes them a cut above rest. Remember when you first learnt Newton’s Laws and discovered as to why you fall when you jump from a running bus. Wasn’t it something intriguing and gave you an immense satisfaction? It all came to Newton because of his curiosity and his abilities to study things and relate them with nature. Just like Newton’s Laws in physics helped the whole world demystify big secrets, mathematics and its observations when related to nature, its pattern and aesthetics answers thousands of questions which perhaps would have remain unanswered. Yup, I am talking about something called Golden Ratio which regulates anything and perhaps everything in nature which would have ever come to your inquisitive mind.
